Artist Support Pledge

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many artists have found themselves without work and this is a great initiative to support our creative community. The concept is a simple one. Artists post images of their work on social media which they are willing to sell for no more than £200 each (not including shipping). Anyone can buy the work. Every time an artist reaches £1000 of sales, they pledge to spend £200 on another artist’s work. So fellow designers and artists make a pledge and post your work using #artistsupportpledge and follow the #. Keep updated on news and further opportunities @artistsupportpledge

I really wanted to get involved with this initiative and support my fellow artists and creatives. I love how the artist support pledge is encouraging artists to pay attention to their work, community and environment, together cultivating a generous culture amongst the industry. That feeling of solidarity and supporting one another couldn’t be more welcomed during this time. So, I took of my commercial hat and have gone back to basics with creating some original hand drawn artwork, and I’ve loved it. So therapeutic and I’ve enjoyed creating instead of thinking about the commercialisation of products, from how, when, what, why etc. Don’t get me wrong I still love all that, but it’s nice to sometimes create and let your hair down with no end goal in mind. Playing with intertwining colour, layering and depth the artworks often look tapestry like though illusion.

There a few artworks uploaded via the online store under ‘original artwork’ which all support this initiative. To commission a bespoke artwork please get in touch.
