OFFICE DESIGN - SURFACE PATTERN GOALS

Recently I decorated one of my office spaces, I do believe a beautiful space with your favourite interior accessories can make you more productive at work. I wanted to bring some of my travels to the office by mixing and matching Trinidad, Obrapia, Havana and Tropic wallpapers. I thought I would have a go at this myself and it was surprisingly very easy to put up.  The wallpapers are all 150gsm and very durable and hard wearing and this made it easier to apply to the walls.

Firstly I laid out all the rolls and patterns an arranged them into a composition . Landscape or portrait will always work, I chose to paste portrait. I cut the patterns at different sections, through colour blocks and certain pattern sections to create a cool arrangement for the wall. You can either paste the paper or paste the wall, both work well. I started central and pasted outwards. Loving the overall look! If you like help arranging a pattern design for your wall feature please drop me a hello!

SUMMER TRAVEL INTERIOR VIBES 2017

I have a huge love for travel and whenever there is the possibility to visit somewhere new I am on it! If you don't already know, my travel destinations often form the basis of my wallpaper collections. If you are looking for some holiday inspiration this summer 2017 below are our top five spots to visit. However, fear not, if you wont be jetting of this summer, bring a bit of pattern paradise to your interiors with our worldly wallpaper selection.

1. Maldives

This is the perfect place to relax and unwind for a maximum of seven days. I like a mixture of adventure and sunbathing so seven days is enough before I head of to my next destination. The Mix 'n' Match 15 wallpaper collection introduces two patterns, Tropic and Monochrome, two rolls of assorted pattern with no single repeat. Inspired by under the sea and applying our pretty geometric interpretation, Tropic draws upon the brights of sea life surfaces experimenting with an ombre effect colour balance. Monochrome is a black and white contrast of the same patterns adding a bold statement wallpaper to our existing collections.

2. Marrakech

This is one of my favourite places to buy interior accessories for my home. There is so much pattern, colour and vibrance to capture across this city. I had to translate my surface pattern love for this place onto paper, you can buy some our favourite designs from the KG Basics 2016 range. Shop Medina Red and Jazz Vintage!

3. Cuba

In June 2016 I travelled to Cuba visiting the sites of Havana Trinidad, Cienfuegos and Varadero. The rustic charms of Havana still remain and I wanted to capture the old history before it all changes. Trinidad is a magical place full of bright colour around every street corner with snippets of broken tiles, decaying man made surfaces with contrasting patterns. Cuba is surface designer's dream as there is so much to see and record through drawing and photography.

The Mix ‘n’ Match 17 wallpaper collection introduces three new patterns, Havana, Obrapia and Trinidad. I took so many interesting photos in Cuba and we wanted to include these within the final collection. Combining photography and Illustrator I designed three new wallpaper patterns which reflect the imperfect beauty of Cuba. Below is Oprabia and Trinidad.

4. India

Being Indian, it was great to finally travel India and introduce my heritage and culture into this collection. Taj and Pink City make up the India 14 collection. I  took in the sights of the beautiful Taj Mahal and Jaipur, in which I fell in love with the bright colours and soft and curvaceous lines of the architecture. The colours of the collection play with a striking rich traditional Indian red offset with muted pastel hues.

5. Dubai

High - end and glamourous springs to mind when I think Dubai. It's a perfect break with scorching temperatures, hot sands and hot sea's. I always stop over in Jumeirah for a few days when traveling long - haul indulging in some luxury!   I had to create a collection that incorporates the glam of Dubai with some KG pattern style.
Jewel, Ash and Sombre make up the Mix n Match 13 collection. Drawing influences from Arabian architecture, dark nights and nature, 13 captures snippets of an opulent colour palette represented through a rich aubergine and teal. Below is Jewel and Sombre Wallpaper.

SURFACE PATTERN COLLABORATION WITH BLIK \\ LA

In June 2016, I visited Cuba, visiting Havana, Trinidad, Cienfuegos and Varadero. The rustic charms of this island nation compelled me to capture the old history before it changed, and is the inspiration behind two new patterns for BLIK. This is our seventh surface pattern collaboration with BLIK allowing me to share my designs across the globe around trendy LA and beyond.

Cuba is a magical place full of bright colour around every street corner with snippets of broken tiles, decaying man made surfaces with contrasting patterns. Cuba is a surface designer's dream. I have juxtaposed bold tropical colors, architectural styles like brick and tile work, with geometric line art to create Cuba Wall Panels and Trinidad Wall Panels
